The ongoing moment - Explorations in Advaita Vedanta
Tuesday, 30 August 2011
We think that there is something hiding our
reality and that it must be destroyed before the
reality is gained. It is ridiculous. A day will dawn
when you will yourself laugh at your past efforts.
That which will be on the day you laugh is also
here and now.
Although best known as a writer of travel books I've been interested in philosophy and spirituality for as long as I can remember. My most recent book 'All Kinds of Magic' describes two years spent in India exploring these subjects, but it was only really after my return that I finally discovered the simplicity and profound beauty of the traditional Advaita Vedanta teachings. This blog is really just a platform for exploring these teachings, as well as similar 'non-dual' schools of Eastern thought which point to the nature of reality.
